Naturally Sweet: Learn Why You Should Eat Raw Honey

Long before what we refer to as civilization was born, honey was a food prized above all others in many traditional cultures. Ancient peoples in Spain, India, Egypt and all over the world knew that honey supplied a unique richness of nutrients. But far from squeezing honey out of cute little plastic containers shaped like bears, these people were eating their honey freshly harvested from local bee hives - untouched and untainted by civilized man. In times before commercial processing overtook our food supply, the remarkable medical benefits of raw honey were understood by primitive man. Today, when we pause to take a closer look at the composition of raw honey, we can clearly see why it is so invaluable:

- Raw honey contains bee pollen, which many leading nutritional experts refer to as a potent superfood. Among bee pollen’s many benefits are allergy relief, detoxification, anti-cancer properties, increased energy, amino acids, vitamins and thousands of beneficial enzymes.

It’s ideal for spreading on bread with peanut butter or scooping up with a spoon.

- Pay close attention to labeling to make sure you are getting a quality raw honey. It should be completely unprocessed and unheated. The valuable enzymes in honey are preserved only if the honey is never heated above 105 degrees, although purists claim that for honey to be truly raw, it should never be heated at all.

- On the same note, raw honey should only be added to foods after they have been cooked and never before, since any exposure to heat risks destroying the beneficial nutrients in the honey.

- Raw honey stored in sealed, airtight jars will not spoil. It is a very stable food that becomes finer with age, just like a quality wine. Open jars will stay fresh for at least several months. Even then, raw honey will simply ferment, not spoil. Fermentation enhances the benefits of raw honey, although some do not prefer the taste.

- While all sugar is not created equal - and in fact many would say raw honey is superior to all other forms of sugar - in the end, raw honey is still, well, sugar. Eaten in excess, it can still have a negative impact on blood sugar levels and can cause related health problems. However, in moderation raw honey is a wonderful health food that is as nutritious as it is utterly intoxicating.

Swine Flu Vaccine Makers to Profit $50 Billion a Year!!

According to recent media reports, some 160 million doses of swine flu vaccine are slated to be delivered to the U.S. by fall; enough doses to vaccinate a large portion of the U.S. population. The U.K. government has placed advance orders for 60 million doses.

But that’s probably just the beginning if sanity does not take hold soon.

According to Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccine makers could produce nearly FIVE BILLION pandemic flu shots per year in the best-case scenario.

And according to Business Week, wealthier countries like the U.S. and the U.K. will pay just under $10 per dose, while developing countries would pay less.

If these facts hold true, Big Pharma stands to gain up to $49 billion a year on the swine flu vaccine alone.

You might know that I am a native Chicagoan. Our most famous senator of course is now President Obama. But one of the most prominent senators preceeding him was Everett Dirksen.

Senator Dirksen passed away 40 years ago, but I remember him saying very clearly when he was talking about Defense Department spending:

A billion dollars here and a billion dollars there, and before you know it you are talking about real money.”

I realize that with the current economic crisis $50 billion doesn’t seem like a lot but it really is. These companies stand to earn about $50 billion PER YEAR from these vaccine recommendations.

Is it any wonder you’re being bombarded with scary messages about the significant threat posed by swine flu? The swine flu vaccines stand poised to be absolute Blockbusters if this hyped up vaccine drive is successful.

Say NO to the Vaccine !!!

Safety, Anyone?

According to the Guardian article above, the first human trials have begun in Adelaide, Australia, where adult volunteers are receiving vaccines from two pharmaceutical companies.

However, don’t mistake reports of human trials as a sign that safety measures are in place. Far from it.

GlaxoSmithKline has actually stated, “Clinical trials will be limited, due to the need to provide the vaccine to governments as quickly as possible. Additional studies will therefore be required and conducted after the vaccine is made available.” [Emphasis mine].

Folks, how could this be anything but a prescription for potentially massive disaster?

Unfortunately, many people will not realize that when they line up for this vaccine, they are in fact accepting their role as TEST SUBJECTS. They are likely NOT receiving a drug that has any proof of being safe.

Please, if you care about the health and welfare of your friends and family, do not be shy about sharing information about this vaccine with them. It’s imperative that we quell this mounting drive to mass vaccinate, especially the mass vaccination of children.

There are factors involved with this vaccine that are brand new, which means it will be highly experimental and unpredictable.

For example, this vaccine will not be made using the methods of the past. In order to speed up the cultivation of the virus and the manufacturing process, they’re using human liver cells instead of chicken eggs. Whether this new procedure is better or worse than the old method, I can’t say.

However, I believe it’s probably safe to say even the vaccine manufacturer does not know the answer to that question, since it’s never been used before and they have not had time to conduct any human testing. So, it’s Russian Roulette, if you ask me.

Most of the vaccines created will also include thimerosal (mercury), and the toxic adjuvant squalene, both of which have been clearly shown to carry significant health risks.

Why Safety is of No Real Concern for Vaccine Makers

Do you believe safety is a major concern for vaccine makers?

The last swine flu vaccination campaign that took place in 1976 led to thousands of lawsuits. Damage claims totaled $1.3 billion. The vaccine claimed 25 lives and hundreds of previously healthy young adults were crippled from Guillain-Barré Syndrome. The swine flu itself claimed ONE life.

This time around, the U.S. government has taken steps to ensure this will not happen again. The financial liability, I mean.

Vaccine makers and federal officials have been rendered mmune from lawsuits.Should anything go wrong with this current vaccine they will not have to pay a single cent to anyone,

Complete and total insulation from any legal actions thanks to effective manipulation of the US legal system through effective lobbying.

You may already know that since the 1980s, vaccine makers have been protected against lawsuits stemming from the use of childhood vaccines. Now, for the first time, they can wash their hands of any hazards stemming from a flu vaccine AND any associated adjuvants, such as squalene. The antiviral drugs Tamiflu and Relenza are also included in this protective legislation.

The 2006 Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (the PREP Act) allows the DHHS Secretary to invoke almost complete immunity from liability for manufacturers of vaccines and drugs used to combat a declared public health emergency. The PREP Act removes your right to a trial jury unless you can provide clear evidence of willful misconduct that resulted in death or serious physical injury.

And get what you have to do BEFORE you can sue them—you must apply for and be granted permission to sue by the DHHS Secretary.

So what does all this mean?

It means that a) you agree to be a human guinea pig, and b) if your health suffers, you have virtually no legal recourse whatsoever. Believe me, no one will take responsibility for what happens to you or your child once you’ve been injected with this experimental vaccine.

It also means that at this point, a) vaccine makers have no financial incentive to make a safe product, and worse, b) they have a negative incentive to test it for safety.

Why?

Because if they KNOW there are problems, they could potentially be held liable for willful misconduct!

As long as they can prove they “didn’t know” of any problem, they will not be liable for damages. Hence it’s in their best interest to know as little as possible about the adverse reactions it might cause.

It is a topsy-turvy world, but that is the reality we’re faced with today, and that’s why I believe the ramifications of this mass vaccination campaign may turn out to be far worse than anyone’s willing to consider.

Are you prepared to let yourself or your child to be an unpaid test subject in an experimental drug trial with no guarantees of any kind?

Let it be well known that if you place your sole trust in your health officials and the vaccine makers, the potential price you might pay is your physical health and financial future. Everything is at stake. So, think carefully, and choose wisely, because once the damage is done, there’s no one to address your complaints.

Are the Swine Flu Numbers Correct?

Another area of concern is the reported number of cases of swine flu. What IS the real number?

Did you know that in the U.K., for example, they now appear to be collecting swine flu data online and via the phone, based on nothing but self assessment?

How can this contribute to an accurate picture of the spread of this disease?

Remember, the swine flu has nearly identical symptoms as the regular flu. The only way to know for sure is through laboratory verification of the strain.

Symptoms of the swine flu include:

* Fever of more than 100
* Coughing
* Runny nose and/or sore throat
* Joint aches
* Severe headache
* Vomiting and/or diarrhea
* Lethargy
* Lack of appetite

The British government’s National Pandemic Flu Service consists of an online form that assesses your symptoms, and if you’re deemed to fit the swine flu profile, you’re issued an authorization number to collect an antiviral from your local Antiviral Collection Point.

According to the Guardian, about 100,000 Brits caught the swine flu last week; nearly double the previous week’s figures.

But did they really contract the swine flu?

Or did the vast majority of them simply have a case of the sniffles, or a seasonal flu bug? Without laboratory confirmation, no one will ever know, but they sure are using those numbers to scare you!

Combat Battle Fatigue with the Two Paths to Sanity

As mentioned in Regina’s Blog above, another problem many are facing right now is information overwhelm, followed by battle fatigue as you weed through the propaganda and misinformation, trying to figure out what’s true and what’s not.

Eventually, this can lead to complacency, which I believe is the ultimate goal of the propagators of this campaign.

They want you to give up, shut up, and get shot up—so they can make billions of dollars, all without assuming any risk whatsoever.

This is not an option for any of us if we are to stop this inhumane, if not criminal, violation of our rights.

Instead, I suggest focusing your energy on the following two paths to sanity:

1. Take care of your health to protect yourself against any kind of influenza, and

2. Take a stance and make your voice heard politically

Here’s a quick rundown of how to do both.

How to Protect Yourself Against the Flu Without Vaccination

Following these simple guidelines will keep your immune system in optimal working order so that you’re far less likely to acquire the infection to begin with.

  • Optimize your vitamin D levels. As I’ve previously reported, optimizing your vitamin D levels is one of the absolute best strategies for avoiding infections of ALL kinds, and vitamin D deficiency is likely the TRUE culprit behind the seasonality of the flu — not the flu virus itself.

This is probably the single most important and least expensive action you can take. I would STRONGLY urge you to have your vitamin D level monitored to confirm your levels are therapeutic at 50-70 ng.ml and done by a reliable vitamin D lab like Lab Corp.

For those of you in the U.S., we hope to launch a vitamin D testing service through Lab Corp that allows you to have your vitamin D levels checked at your local blood drawing facility, and relatively inexpensively. If you are coming down with flu like symptoms and have not been on vitamin D you can take doses of 50,000 units a day for three days to treat the acute infection. Some researchers like Dr. Cannell, believe the dose could even be as high as 1,000 units per pound of body weight for three days.

However, most of Dr. Cannell’s work was with seasonal and not pandemic flu. If your body has never been exposed to the antigens there is chance that the vitamin D might not work. However the best bet is to maintain healthy levels of vitamin D around 60 ng/ml.

  • Avoid Sugar and Processed Foods. Sugar decreases the function of your immune system almost immediately, and as you likely know, a strong immune system is key to fighting off viruses and other illness. Be aware that sugar is present in foods you may not suspect, like ketchup and fruit juice.
  • Get Enough Rest. Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you’re tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight the flu. Be sure to check out my article Guide to a Good Night’s Sleep for some great tips to help you get quality rest.
  • Have Effective Tools to Address Stress . We all face some stress every day, but if stress becomes overwhelming then your body will be less able to fight off the flu and other illness.

If you feel that stress is taking a toll on your health, consider using an energy psychology tool such as meridian tapping techniques, which is remarkably effective in relieving stress associated with all kinds of events, from work to family to trauma.

  • Exercise. When you exercise, you increase your circulation and your blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of finding an illness before it spreads. You can review my exercise guidelines for some great tips on how to get started.
  • Take a Good Source of Animal-Based Omega-3 Fats. Increase your intake of healthy and essential fats like the omega-3 found in krill oil, which is crucial for maintaining health. It is also vitally important to avoid damaged omega-6 oils that are trans fats and in processed foods as it will seriously damage your immune response.
  • Wash Your Hands. Washing your hands will decrease your likelihood of spreading a virus to your nose, mouth or other people. Be sure you don’t use antibacterial soap for this — antibacterial soaps are completely unnecessary, and they cause far more harm than good. Instead, identify a simple chemical-free soap that you can switch your family to.
  • Use Natural Antibiotics. Examples include colloidal silver, oil of oregano, and garlic. These work like broad-spectrum antibiotics against bacteria, viruses, and protozoa in your body. And unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics, they do not appear to lead to resistance.
  • Avoid Hospitals and Vaccines. In this particular case, I’d also recommend you stay away from hospitals unless you’re having an emergency, as hospitals are prime breeding grounds for infections of all kinds, and could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to this new bug.

Keep in mind that virtually all vaccinations will LOWER your immune system (this is the main job of the vaccine adjuvants), NOT make it stronger!

Binge Eating: Find Relief through Yoga Therapy

Binge eating is said to have its origins in psychological disturbances. Binge eaters seek comfort in food when all else seems hopeless. Yoga could offer tremendous therapeutic comfort for victims of this disorder. The connection lies in the fact that yoga could help heal the mind by directing awareness towards the body. Therefore, the behavioral patterns associated with an unhealthy psychological state of being could get minimized to a great extent.

So how does one know if one is a victim of binge eating disorder? Doctors are still undecided about the symptoms that exactly define this condition. However, there are some behavioral signs which could be symptomatic of binge eating. They are:

  • Frequent consumption of abnormally huge quantities of food
  • Eating too fast and until one is too full
  • Eating excessively even when not necessarily hungry
  • Tendency to eat alone due to embarrassment of over-eating too much
  • Self-loathing, guilt and depression afterwards, for having eaten too much

Binge eating is also common in Bulimia Nervosa, an eating disorder characterized by episodes of binge eating and subsequent purging. The purging is forcefully done through induced vomiting or an intake of larger-than-acceptable amounts of laxative. In binge eating however, episodes of over-eating are followed by feelings of guilt and shame. This further reinforces the sense of hopelessness.

Yoga could help

According to research conducted at the University of The Rockies, binge eaters were encouraged to take part in a 10-week yoga therapy program. These participants saw a dramatic drop in their binge-eating episodes towards the end of the program. Every week, the program included an hour of yoga and group discussion afterwards that lasted half an hour.

The rationale behind this phenomenon is the fact that yoga offers a way to reconnect the mind with the body. According to researchers, binge eating is characterized by the inability to face one`s negative emotions. Food offers comfort where nothing else will and so eating works as a cathartic mechanism.

According to psychologists, binge eaters` relationship with food works as a substitute for real bonds with people and emotions in their day to day existence. They hide behind food when they are faced with situations, emotions or feelings they would rather not confront. Yoga makes them rise up to the moment and face their perceived challenges in life and relationships. Yoga does that by bringing their awareness to the present. The idea is to help people forge a new and positive relationship with the body. This raises self-esteem and creates the need to stop abusing one`s own body.

Recommended yoga practices for binge eating

A good physical fitness program is known to restore self-confidence and a sense of wellbeing previously absent. When the body feels healthy and good, the mind tends to follow suit and vice-versa. Yoga in particular has the techniques to improve one`s state of mind and this is evident right from the start of a practice.

Sun salutations provide the practitioner with a cardio workout, while static poses involving a bit of balancing makes one feel more grounded. Pranayama or breathing techniques have benefits that directly impact the body. Squalene: The Swine Flu Vaccine’s Dirty Little Secret Exposed

According to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, your children should be the first target for mass swine flu vaccinations when school starts this fall.[i]

This is a ridiculous assumption for many reasons, not to mention extremely high risk.

In Australia, where the winter season has begun, Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon is reassuring parents the swine flu is no more dangerous than regular seasonal flu. “Most people, including children, will experience very mild symptoms and recover without any medical intervention,” she said.[ii]

Sydney-based immunization specialist Robert Booy predicts swine flu might be fatal to about twice as many children in the coming year as regular influenza. Booy estimates 10-12 children could die from the H1N1 virus, compared with the five or six regular flu deaths seen among children in an average year in Australia.[iii]

“Cure the Disease, Kill the Patient”

Less than 100 children in the U.S. die each year from seasonal flu viruses.[iv] If we use Australia’s math, a very rough estimate would be another 100 children could potentially die of swine flu in the United States in the coming year.

If children are the first target group in the U.S. per Sebelius, that means we’re about to inject around 75 million children with a fast tracked vaccine containing novel adjuvants, including dangerous squalene, to prevent perhaps 100 deaths.

I’m not overlooking the tragedy of the loss of even one child to an illness like the H1N1 flu virus. But there can be no argument that unnecessary mass injection of millions of children with a vaccine containing an adjuvant known to cause a host of debilitating autoimmune diseases is a reckless, dangerous plan.

Why are Vaccinations Dangerous?

The presumed intent of a vaccination is to help you build immunity to potentially harmful organisms that cause illness and disease. However, your body’s immune system is already designed to do this in response to organisms which invade your body naturally.

Most disease-causing organisms enter your body through the mucous membranes of your nose, mouth, pulmonary system or your digestive tract – not through an injection.

These mucous membranes have their own immune system, called the IgA immune system. It is a different system from the one activated when a vaccine is injected into your body.

Your IgA immune system is your body’s first line of defense. Its job is to fight off invading organisms at their entry points, reducing or even eliminating the need for activation of your body’s immune system.

When a virus is injected into your body in a vaccine, and especially when combined with an immune adjuvant like squalene, your IgA immune system is bypassed and your body’s immune system kicks into high gear in response to the vaccination.

Injecting organisms into your body to provoke immunity is contrary to nature, and vaccination carries enormous potential to do serious damage to your health.

And as if Vaccines Weren’t Dangerous Enough on Their Own …

… imagine them turbocharged.

The main ingredient in a vaccine is either killed viruses or live ones that have been attenuated (weakened and made less harmful).

Flu vaccines can also contain a number of chemical toxins, including ethylene glycol (antifreeze), formaldehyde, phenol (carbolic acid) and even antibiotics like Neomycin and streptomycin.

In addition to the viruses and other additives, many vaccines also contain immune adjuvants like aluminum and squalene.

The purpose of an immune adjuvant added to a vaccine is to enhance (turbo charge) your immune response to the vaccination. Adjuvants cause your immune system to overreact to the introduction of the organism you’re being vaccinated against.

Adjuvants are supposed to get the job done faster (but certainly not more safely), which reduces the amount of vaccine required per dose, and the number of doses given per individual.

Less vaccine required per person means more individual doses available for mass vaccination campaigns. Coincidentally, this is exactly the goal of government and the pharmaceutical companies who stand to make millions from their vaccines.

Will There Be Immune Adjuvants in Swine Flu Vaccines?

The U.S. government has contracts with several drug companies to develop and produce swine flu vaccines. At least two of those companies, Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline, are using an adjuvant in their H1N1 vaccines.

The adjuvant? Squalene.

According to Meryl Nass, M.D., an authority on the anthrax vaccine,

“A novel feature of the two H1N1 vaccines being developed by companies Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline is the addition of squalene-containing adjuvants to boost immunogenicity and dramatically reduce the amount of viral antigen needed. This translates to much faster production of desired vaccine quantities.”[v]

Novartis’s proprietary squalene adjuvant for their H1N1 vaccine is MF59. Glaxo’s is ASO3. MF59 has yet to be approved by the FDA for use in any U.S. vaccine, despite its history of use in other countries.

Per Dr. Nass, there are only three vaccines in existence using an approved squalene adjuvant. None of the three are approved for use in the U.S.

What Squalene Does to Rats

Oil-based vaccination adjuvants like squalene have been proved to generate concentrated, unremitting immune responses over long periods of time.[vi]

A 2000 study published in the American Journal of Pathology demonstrated a single injection of the adjuvant squalene into rats triggered “chronic, immune-mediated joint-specific inflammation,” also known as rheumatoid arthritis.[vii]

The researchers concluded the study raised questions about the role of adjuvants in chronic inflammatory diseases.

What Squalene Does to Humans

Your immune system recognizes squalene as an oil molecule native to your body. It is found throughout your nervous system and brain. In fact, you can consume squalene in olive oil and not only will your immune system recognize it, you will also reap the benefits of its antioxidant properties.

The difference between “good” and “bad” squalene is the route by which it enters your body. Injection is an abnormal route of entry which incites your immune system to attack all the squalene in your body, not just the vaccine adjuvant.

Your immune system will attempt to destroy the molecule wherever it finds it, including in places where it occurs naturally, and where it is vital to the health of your nervous system.[viii]

Gulf War veterans with Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) received anthrax vaccines which contained squalene.[ix] MF59 (the Novartis squalene adjuvant) was an unapproved ingredient in experimental anthrax vaccines and has since been linked to the devastating autoimmune diseases suffered by countless Gulf War vets.[x]

The Department of Defense made every attempt to deny that squalene was indeed an added contaminant in the anthrax vaccine administered to Persian Gulf war military personnel – deployed and non-deployed – as well as participants in the more recent Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program (AVIP).

However, the FDA discovered the presence of squalene in certain lots of AVIP product. A test was developed to detect anti-squalene antibodies in GWS patients, and a clear link was established between the contaminated product and all the GWS sufferers who had been injected with the vaccine containing squalene.

A study conducted at Tulane Medical School and published in the February 2000 issue of Experimental Molecular Pathology included these stunning statistics:

“ … the substantial majority (95%) of overtly ill deployed GWS patients had antibodies to squalene. All (100%) GWS patients immunized for service in Desert Shield/Desert Storm who did not deploy, but had the same signs and symptoms as those who did deploy, had antibodies to squalene.

In contrast, none (0%) of the deployed Persian Gulf veterans not showing signs and symptoms of GWS have antibodies to squalene. Neither patients with idiopathic autoimmune disease nor healthy controls had detectable serum antibodies to squalene. The majority of symptomatic GWS patients had serum antibodies to squalene.”[xi]

According to Dr. Viera Scheibner, Ph.D., a former principle research scientist for the government of Australia:

“… this adjuvant [squalene] contributed to the cascade of reactions called “Gulf War Syndrome,” documented in the soldiers involved in the Gulf War.

The symptoms they developed included arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anaemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjorgren’s syndrome, chronic diarrhoea, night sweats and low-grade fevers.”[xii]

Post Vaccination Follow-Up Might as Well Be Non-Existent

There is virtually no science to support the safety of vaccine injections on your long-term health or the health of your children. Follow-up studies last on average about two weeks, and look only for glaring injuries and illnesses.

Autoimmune disorders like those seen in Gulf War Syndrome frequently take years to diagnose due to the vagueness of early symptoms. Complaints like headaches, fatigue and chronic aches and pains are symptoms of many different illnesses and diseases.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for vaccine purveyors and proponents to look seriously at the long-term health consequences of their vaccination campaigns.

What You Can Do Right Now

Visit the National Vaccination Information Center (NVIC) site and join in the fight against mandatory swine flu vaccinations.

Educate yourself about influenza strains, vaccination risks, and the public health laws in your state that may require you or your children to undergo either mandatory vaccination or quarantine.

Take care of your health to reduce or eliminate your risk of contracting the flu. The key is to keep your immune system strong by following these guidelines:

* Eliminate sugar and processed foods from your diet. Sugar consumption has an immediate, debilitating effect on your immune system.
* Take a high quality source of animal-based omega 3 fats like Krill Oil.
* Exercise. Your immune system needs good circulation in order to perform at its best for you.
* Optimize your vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency is the likely cause of seasonal flu viruses. Getting an optimal level of vitamin D will help you fight infections of all kinds.
* Get plenty of good quality sleep.
* Deal with stress effectively. If you feel overwhelmed by stress, your body will not have the reserves it needs to fight infection.
* Wash your hands. But not with an antibacterial soap. Use a pure, chemical-free soap.

Alert: The End of Food as We Know It

If the Hippocrates maxim that “food should be considered as our first medicine” is right, we are on the brink of some really bad medicine. Recently, Obama selected as his “Food Czar”, a former Monsanto executive and FDA manipulator, Michael Taylor. More recently, the Orwellian labeled Food Safety Enhancement Bill (HR 2749) was passed easily by the House of Representatives.

The bill is on a fast track for Senate and Presidential approval. If it becomes law as written, this combination of a corrupt Food Czar and misleadingly named Food Safety Bill threatens to take out the food that is medicine and leave us with the food that is poison.

The Food Safety Bill Threatens Safe Food

Before you consider most of this bill as benign or even helpful, as many main stream outlets are promoting, read on and do your own research on the ambiguity of the bill, of which interpretation and enforcement will be left to the discretion of The Food Czar.

The Food Safety Bill does next to nothing to protect consumers from the industrial foods of agribusiness giants such as Monsanto and their ilk. It has the potential to be an instrument of legal oppression for small farmers, organic farming, even farmers’ markets and food co-ops. Some indicate the Bill’s language is broad enough to even include home vegetable gardens!

Setting a uniform fee of $500 annual, regardless of company or farm size, for the privilege of being policed by the FDA is a relatively minor inequity. This bill, when passed into law, gives the FDA the power to have random inspections on any food producing or storage group without probable cause. There have already been raids on food co-ops, such as the Ohio Department of Agriculture La Grange co-op raid in December of 2008, where all the food was seized without testing.

According to Gunny G Online: “This astounding control will include the elimination of organic farming by eliminating manure, mandating GMO animal feed, imposing animal drugs, and ordering applications of petrochemical fertilizers and pesticides. Farmers, thus, will be locked not only into the industrialization of once normal and organic farms but into the forced purchase of industry’s products.”

HR 2749 creates severe criminal and civil penalties, including prison terms of up to 10 years and/or fines of up to $100,000 for each violation. Does it include judicial review, Congressional oversight, a defined and limited set of penalties and punishments for a defined set of “crimes”? Not even. The so called Food Safety Bill hands carte blanch enforcement to the whims of Obama’s Food Czar.

Introducing Obama’s Food Czar

The person who may be responsible for more food-related illness and death than anyone in history has just been made the US Food Safety Czar. This is no joke”, says Jeffrey Smith about Michael Taylor’s appointment in a recent Huffington Post article. Jeffrey Smith is the author of Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette. Perhaps that is exaggerated, but Michael Taylor’s history with Monsanto and the FDA through the corporate/government revolving door is scary enough to provoke such an assertion.

In the early 1990’s, Michael Taylor was an attorney for Monsanto. He was parsing legalese and loopholes for the wonderful group that has brought the world DDT, PCB’s, Agent Orange, NutraSweet (aspartame), bovine growth hormone, GMO foods, toxic pesticides and weed killers (Round Up), and terminator seeds.

Michael passed through the revolving door connecting the corporate world and government more than once to ensure Monsanto’s unabated success with pushing profitable poisons into the world’s food supply.

After functioning as a lead attorney with Monsanto, he managed to be appointed as the FDA Policy Chief. From that position he wrote a “white paper” (an authoritative official declaration) on the safety of bovine growth hormones. He ensured that dairy farmers using Monsanto’s rbGH would not be required to label its milk products with the bovine growth hormone, which passes puss and toxins into the cow’s milk.

This white paper also gave Monsanto the ability to sue dairy farmers who labeled their products rbGH or growth hormone free, which Monsanto zealously pursued to financially destroy small dairy farmers. Monsanto Mike also oversaw the FDA ruling that dairy farmers who labeled their products as non rbGH needed to include that the FDA has determined there is no difference between milk from rbGH cows and non rbGH cows, which is a complete lie.

Author/journalist Jeffrey Smith was tipped from a former Monsanto scientist that three colleagues at Monsanto, upon discovering the hazards of milk from rbGH injected cows, switched to organic dairy products. Some FDA scientists also knew of the dangers and the improper testing by Monsanto. But they don’t make the final decisions. That’s a function of the FDA Policy Chief, and that was Michael Taylor.

The revolving door swooshed around and Michael Taylor landed back in Monsanto as vice president and chief lobbyist. Only months ago the door spun around once again and Michael Taylor became the senior advisor to the FDA commissioner. Good timing. From that position he could easily be promoted into Obama’s cabinet as the Food Safety Czar.

In case you may still doubt USA government collusion with Monsanto, here’s an interesting item from “Monsanto Buys Terminator Seeds Company” by F. William Engdahl. “In March 1998 the US Patent Office granted Patent No. 5,723,765 to Delta & Pine Land for a patent titled, Control of Plant Gene Expression. The patent is owned jointly, according to Delta & Pine’s Security & Exchange Commission 10K filing, by D&PL and the United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of Agriculture.”

The title “Control of Plant Gene Expression” refers to terminator seeds. These seeds make it impossible to save seeds from a harvest for replanting the next crop, an age old tradition for most farmers. This is a nail in the coffin of independent farming world wide, as once farmers begin using GMO seeds, they have to come back to buy again and again. Monsanto bought Delta & Pine Land (D & PL) in 2008, and now the USDA shares the terminator seed patent rights for royalties with Monsanto.

When Big Business owns Government, it is called fascism. When Government owns Big Business, it is called communism. Does this mean we will now have both for our food supply?

What This Means to Consumers

It means this bill will have the FDA, along with the USDA, to act as minions directly instead of indirectly for Monsanto and other literally unhealthy corporations. The FDA would be linking up with other World Trade Organization (WTO) efforts to control farming world wide, while catering to the greedy ambitions of International Agribusiness, its related industries, and Processed Food Manufacturers. FDA, USDA, and WTO bureaucrats are sponsored and headed by the enemies of organic and wholesome food farming.

The WTO is capable of legally levying ridiculous fines or mandating trade sanctions, including food sanctions, on regions that don’t comply with WTO governed organizations, such as WHO (World Health Organization), the organization that is ushering in dangerous forced vaccinations for 195 member nations. The WTO is planning severe farming regulations that are expected to be world wide.

Setting up a Food Czar from Monsanto with FDA connections via his revolving door career means that rbGH dairy, GMO’s, terminator seeds and pesticides for crops will dominate in our food supply and prosper as “safe” while organic and wholesome foods will be declared dangerous and become a threatened species. The main stream media is already publicizing propaganda against organic food.

You may want to start your own organic garden by yourself or with others soon. This is what the Cubans did in defense of all the trade sanctions imposed on them. And most of Cuba’s crops are now organic!

Activists don’t seem to feel confident about the bill losing steam on its fast track to becoming law. They have decided the best that can be done is petitioning for rewording of key passages with the Senate to soften HR 2749 before it gets to the president for ratification.

Natural Vision Improvement with Greg Marsh CNVT, Part II

David: And so have you seen people get out of glasses that needed bifocals or had astigmatism issues… are these conditions healable?

Greg: Sure. Absolutely. Eye doctors are taught that the lens of the eye becomes inflexible for changing focus, and of course in their medical practices they see a steady flow of middle-aged patients who seem to prove the point. But I’ve seen a lot of people recover their close vision with this approach, meaning that indeed they have somehow recovered their flexibility to focus. Our society has a strong belief reading glasses or bifocals are inevitable, and I think beliefs tend to make things come true. Another factor could be that it’s scary getting older, maybe we don’t want to “see” up-close what is happening. But whatever factors cause it, almost anyone can get a taste of sharper close vision from relaxing the eyes, with the Bates technique called palming, which we can talk about.

You also mention astigmatism. To Dr. Bates, all these vision problems related to different permutations of strain, tweaking and stretching the eyeball various ways. For me, astigmatism disappeared quickly when my optometrist agreed to stop correcting for it in my prescription. Try to feel what the Bates model would say is causing astigmatism. Imagine you’re holding on to a rubber ball with your fingers and you’re squeezing and twisting it all different directions at once. Feel how this twisting in the middle of the ball could affect the symmetry at the front of the ball. This is how the Bates Model would say the cornea (at the front of the eye) creates astigmatism. Once again the Bates Method just aims to help all these muscles relax so the eyeball can go back to its natural shape. Dr. Bates himself was surprised at every turn of how many conditions were treatable through relaxation and restoring natural vital movement to the eyes.

David: It’s interesting when we connect what the facial expressions mean psychologically, like to squint or to raise an eyebrow…

Greg: Yeah, facial expressions and also you might also say body signatures. So try this on. Here’s the sort-of signature posture for near-sightedness: Now, just hunker forward a bit, tighten your chest, and notice that your eyes are tightening too, and also feel how this is shrinking your world, in fact shrinking what you can see out there. And with no judgment, just realize this habitual tightness might be a reaction to psychological bumps and bruises we’ve had in our lives. When they relax all this tightness, people who are near-sighted might have a spontaneous memory… maybe from an event they forgot, maybe a bad experience with a teacher, or with their parents fighting when they were young… and maybe they literally or figuratively didn’t want to see everything that what was happening, so they closed down a bit. And their eyes responded creatively to shrink their vision.

David: Wow. That’s pretty amazing that you say that because today I was at your website and I followed the guided palming exercise and as I did that memories came up of being in grade school. It didn’t come up as negative but it is something it’s not very common to me if I’m not meditating; I usually don’t have memories just come up spontaneously so that’s pretty interesting!

Greg: Oh that’s cool, David! Perhaps as you palmed and let go of strain, your eyes relaxed and you might’ve just mentally gone back to that time before you got glasses when your eyes were that relaxed before.

David: Yeah, you know I think that’s right because the time I went back to was around 6th grade and that’s when I got glasses.

David: Can you explain for the listeners what palming is?

Greg: Sure let’s just do it. Let’s try it. Hold up both hands and look at your palms. We’ll do one palm at a time, and just put your left palm over your left eye, so that it’s centered and so that it gently covers your eye and blocks all light.

David: Is it touching the eye?

Greg: Good point, not touching the eye, just your palm, gently - but fully - contacting your face all around your eye, and let your eye gently close. It’s almost as if your left hand was an eye patch over your left eye. Now let your fingers sort of melt into your forehead and let your palm melt in all around the skin, all around your face, all around your eyes, and just feel already how it’s starting to be relaxing as you let your hands melt in and feel your shoulders starting to drop. Now put your right hand over your right eye the same way, and probably your right fingers will cover your left fingers a bit.

Palming is very simple. It’s practically magic but it’s very simple. Let your right fingers and palm also start to melt into your forehead and right eye. And as you do that, notice your shoulders are letting go and dropping even more, and notice there’s a sort of relaxation that’s emanating from your hands into your eyes. And all around your eyes, and you can feel and you can imagine that all these muscles around your eyes that have gotten tight that have made your eyes stretched or twisted in some fashion. Now these muscles are starting to melt and you can feel your eyes or even imagine your eyes letting go. Imagining is very powerful. Imagine your eyes gently, easily returning to their natural round shape. And as you do that you’ll notice if you were holding your breath, oh wow, you’re starting to breathe. So continue palming for a few minutes, five or ten or twenty minutes. And when you uncover your eyes you’ll notice your vision is sharper and colors are a bit more vivid. So that’s a crash course in palming.

David: Thank you. We’ll let the readers do it on their own for the full time period so that we don’t just give them twenty minutes of silence. Although it would be good to appreciate silence!

Greg: Another point about palming I’d like to mention. Before you palm it might be good to get a reference point, get some printed matter and put it in a range where it gets slightly blurry. And then you’ll palm and notice it gets sharper afterwards. I just say that because these might be things we aren’t that dialed into, and developing more awareness about how well we’re seeing, and about whether we’re straining - that awareness is a really powerful tool. It’s what we need to take with us all day long, and not only will we find ourselves relaxing our eyes, we’re going to start relaxing our whole upper body and we’re going to be more efficient with our life force all day long. It’s not just about eyesight.

David: That’s powerful stuff.

Greg: Yeah. It’s life changing for a lot of people. One of the things that’s really fun is if I’m doing a workshop, and of course people are experimenting constantly about how to relax their eyes, and all of a sudden someone will literally scream. Everybody will look at them to see what happened, and they’ll have this big smile on their face and they say something like, “I just saw…!!!” They clearly just saw the third row, or five rows down, or whatever on the eye chart where they couldn’t even see the second one before! Their excitement is not just an intellectual excitement. It’s something in their being, in their body, that has let go and it’s just a very gratifying almost kind of a spiritual letting go.

David: So I read that you incorporated meditation and martial arts… it sounds like there’s a really holistic approach to this… that your whole body is connected to your eye health.

Greg: Definitely. Definitely. When people first hear of Natural Vision Improvement, many of them automatically ask if it is some kind of “eye exercises”. Generally I say no it is not eye exercises, because that can lead people down the wrong path, to just a more sophisticated way of straining their eyes. If people meditate, I urge them to find ways to merge meditation and palming. A lot of people can learn new insights about palming from meditation, and likewise can learn more about meditation from palming, even if they’ve been meditating for decades. This applies to other Natural Vision techniques as well, both movement and relaxation techniques. The movement aspect is essential, and one example is, I like to teach a very simple martial art movement: looking one direction and then unfolding to another direction and then start letting your eyes and your vision participate more deeply as you turn. It helps wake up the vision.

David: Have you found certain nutrition that makes a big impact? Are there certain foods that really improve the vision or foods that you think ought to be avoided?

Greg: Oh, absolutely for sure… When you think about it the smallest blood vessels in the whole body are in the eye, behind the retina. Those tiny blood vessels are moving in nutrients, moving out waste. Now imagine you ate a big glob of margarine and hours later it’s working its way through your body. Earlier the blood was easily circulating through your eye, but now it’s like sludge; it’s restricted from its crucial role of delivering oxygen and nutrients. In fact one of the most important things to prevent or reverse the eye malady called macular degeneration is to avoid margarine and other processed factory fats that can clog up our circulatory system. Even butter is not so bad, since it’s been around for eons, and the body knows what to do with it. So first avoid bad fats, and take time to learn what other foods may be bad for you, for instance sugar or artificial sweeteners, and maybe even wheat. Explore. Find out.

Of course any shift in your diet that goes more toward whole foods will help your body, and your eyes. There are special vision nutrients such lutein and bilberry that may be good to take in a supplemental form. It’s pretty easy to find good information on the internet, and if you go to your favorite health food store they’ll usually have anecdotal stories. And they’ll say when people used this supplement, their floaters went away, or they’ve had feedback about other eye conditions that got better. Anyway, I tend to emphasize a lot more the Bates Method and the mental/physical techniques because it’s harder to find good information about them. The nutritional aspect is certainly important, but it is easier to find good information about it.

David: I would think that homogenized milk might also be a problem.

Greg: I think so. I think so. Yeah, there’s a whole cadre of people in the US and many other countries that are trying to make a movement back towards raw milk and it’s I wouldn’t even know how to go into that it’s such a big question. But I have personally met so many people that their health and lives turned around, not by avoiding milk altogether, but by going to raw milk. Personally I’m very sensitive to pasteurized milk and suspect it may be problem food for many people.

David: I also found it interesting when you mentioned margarine. I thought of the food pyramid. I went to the USDA website and their sample two week diet plan and they recommend that you eat margarine every single day. I didn’t know what to say.

Greg: Exactly. No comment on that. Stay away from that food pyramid!

Natural Vision Improvement with Greg Marsh CNVT, Part I

Greg Marsh teaches Natural Vision Improvement including the Bates Method. Greg came across the Bates Method when he was extremely nearsighted in his 20’s. He learned that poor eyesight is a well-established part of how we “see” the world, and his progress was slow until he began to learn from other Natural Vision Teachers about the subtleties and “secrets” of regaining your vision naturally.

David Hestrin: Can you please tell us your story of how you became a natural vision teacher

Greg Marsh: Thirty years ago I was an extremely nearsighted chemical engineer, and I came across a book about the so-called Bates Method that kind of shattered my whole world and said I could improve my eyesight naturally.

It is all about ease and relaxation

At first I didn’t believe it at all, but I started trying some of the techniques and I could see that they made a difference. Unfortunately I kept trying to do everything the hard way, the wrong way. I perceived it as eye exercises and trying to whip my eyes into shape, trying to get my eyes to work harder. It took me many years to discover that I had it backwards. Instead, Natural Vision Improvement is all about ease and relaxation. When I finally worked with a couple of Natural Vision Teachers, they were able to help me understand things in a more natural way.

My prescription was so extreme it actually kept me out of military at the tail end of the Vietnam War. I flunked my physical because of my eyesight. Time passed and I improved my vision a bit. I continued “working on my eyes”, the wrong way, the hard way. It took me many years to really find my way into the essential secrets of how to relax and use my eyes naturally, and to finally make real improvements in my own eyesight. Today it is a pleasure to teach others… how to apply things for themselves.

David Hestrin: So just by relaxing your muscles you can have very significant changes in your vision?

Greg Marsh: Correct. To put it in a nutshell first for someone who’s reading or listening to this - just imagine your eyes feeling very tense. See if you can make them a little more tense and feel how that clogs up something in your vision. Now let that tension go a little bit. Let it go a little more… Take a nice deep breath in and let your eyes look around and feel a sense of ease. The heart of this approach is to let go of strain, to let your eyes relax and move again. If you experiment with that for a few minutes you’ll probably get at least a little flicker of clearer vision.

David Hestrin: Yes! It’s interesting that when I really try to relax what ends up happening is I feel that the eyes really want to move and that that seems more relaxed than holding them in one place.

Greg Marsh: Exactly. In fact Dr. Bates, the founder of this approach, said the whole problem is staring, that somehow we learned to strain and stare. If you watch a person who has absolutely clear vision you will see that their eyes are constantly moving, and if you look at someone who is very nearsighted or very farsighted, you’ll see that their eyes are more fixated and stuck.

David Hestrin: I also noticed something, that picking fruit or berries is an activity that’s a really good way to keep the eyes in motion and to identify colors…

Greg Marsh: That’s great, I love that. Picking fruit or doing anything that keeps you moving your attention is nourishing for vision. An optometrist did a survey with hundreds of people who were very myopic (which means near-sighted) versus people with very good vision. He found that a very high proportion of the people with good vision regularly played some kind of game with a ball, and a much lower proportion of highly nearsighted people played those kinds of games.

David Hestrin: So sports and exercise are important to vision?

Greg Marsh: Yes they can be helpful, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that doing something like “eye exercises” is going to help. Of course you have to do something new and different with your eyes, but it has more to do with your mind, your brain, and your whole sense of the world and participating in the world. This is where I got side-tracked initially. I put lots of effort into eye exercises, but this is not like weightlifting or body-building. It’s more like, if you think of someone walking across a tightrope, and feel the sense of supreme relaxation and poise that that person has to have and how aware that person is with everything. That’s more what we’re looking for, to improve our eyesight and get the most out of not just our eyes but our whole visual system which includes our brain and nervous system. Really it requires relaxed, alert participation from our whole body.

David Hestrin: So what’s going on physically? I have myopia - I’m near-sighted. What’s actually going on with the shape of the eye and what do you see as the cause of it?

Greg Marsh: Well, as we learned in biology class and as any eye doctor will readily tell us: if we’re near-sighted that means our eyeball is too long or the focal length is too short, and the visual image is not landing properly on the retina. Far-sightedness means opposite conditions, and astigmatism has another nuance going on. But what’s happening physically for nearsightedness is that something has made that eyeball too long. The notion behind the Bates Method is that the muscles that normally rotate and turn the eyeball get very strained and tense.

In fact, let’s make an analogy. Let’s say that you’ve been really stressed out for several weeks or months. You’re in graduate school or whatever, and you’re putting a lot of strain in your neck. You notice after a while your neck really starts hurting, and you may even find yourself going to the doctor about it. Well, now imagine a similar kind of strain in your eye muscles. In the case of near-sightedness there are muscles that wrap around the top and bottom of the eye called the oblique muscles, and those muscles together can actually squeeze the eyeball and make it too long - that’s Dr. Bates’ model of it, the creator of the Bates Method. We’ve squeezed those muscles, like if you took a balloon and squeezed around the center, it would pop out and be longer at the ends. So that’s the physical aspect of nearsightedness.

David Hestrin: And do the optometrists or ophthalmologists have a different explanation for why people are nearsighted or farsighted?

Greg Marsh: Mostly they do, but some optometrists are on board with the Bates method there are even a few ophthalmologists that are on board with it. Generally though, it’s not going to be their paradigm. Like anything in natural healing, doctors tend to live where they live and without criticizing, they have a paradigm that works for them. What most eye doctors are going to say is that eyesight is genetic, that strain has nothing to do with it. But the Bates Method worked for me and it’s worked for hundreds of people that I’ve worked with personally, and I get feedback from indirectly from thousands who have used my CD programs. There are other Natural Vision Teachers getting similar results, and of course some people figure it out on their own. It’s all just natural principles to naturally go back toward better vision.

David Hestrin: So when I stop straining my muscles improperly then my eyes will just naturally go back to the correct shape? What do you see as the mechanism at work?

Greg Marsh: That’s a great question and I have to have a little sense of mischief as we examine it. I’m a chemical engineer by training, and I did a lot of research when I was younger. And the older I get, the more I just smile about how exacting everybody wants to be about how things work. Research and science can be so seductive, we spend time researching something and get attached to our ideas and then call it “science”. Frankly, much about the eyes and vision is not well understood. When you strip away the exact mechanism - whatever it really may be - the essential point is that people who involve themselves in these Natural Vision approaches do improve their eyesight.

So working backwards, how did that happen? The most obvious mechanism you can find is tight eye muscles gradually relaxing as a person practices Natural Vision techniques. But here, let me give you a more extreme and very sudden example, multiple personalities. There was an optometrist in Chicago who had a chance to evaluate a few different people with multiple personalities and found that a person who needed glasses for one personality but not another, actually showed a spontaneous change of focal length in their eyes. When their thinking pattern and related muscle tightness changed with their personality, the same person would go from having perfect vision to needing some really strong glasses.

David Hestrin: So what would an optometrist do, prescribe multiple pairs of glasses to the person?

Greg Marsh: I’d like to know that part of the story…

David Hestrin: So a person can go from needing glasses to having perfect vision?

All they needed was to feel in their own eyes that it was possible

Greg Marsh: Absolutely! Yes. In my experience anyone can improve their vision, and I’ve seen countless people get completely out of glasses. Sometimes a person has simply come to one of my lectures and then regained clear vision within a few days or weeks. All they needed was just to hear it was possible and to feel in their own eyes that it was possible. These quick successes tended to be with people who had perfect vision until recently, and were annoyed and skeptical about wearing these “crutches” called glasses. Others take longer to undo the habits of staring and straining to see.

For me it was a much longer process. When my glasses were the strongest I had to be two feet from the eye chart to read the biggest letter. So when people with 20/200 say they’re really blind, to me that is just moderate… mine was more like 20/2000. That’s like having to be 20 feet from a huge letter on a billboard to see what someone with good vision could see from a third of a mile away.

In my case, I think a lot of childhood uncertainties and fears lingered, frozen in my adult eyes. For instance, my grade school teachers in the late 1950’s were far too successful in persuading me of the terror and horrific likelihood of nuclear war. The mind can create stomach ulcers, and I would say it can create blurry vision. I think my eyes tried to make me feel safer by blurring the world out there. So, the stronger the glasses, the more riddles a person may have to sort through as they improve their sight. Fortunately the Bates Method and other techniques of Natural Vision Improvement tend to encourage cleansing breathing and very deep relaxation to help thaw frozen vision, whatever may be the cause. Other practices or treatments such as yoga, meditation, massage, and chiropractic can help speed the process of relaxing the visual system.

I hope that gives people a sense that it is indeed possible to improve your vision, and a sense of why it can take weeks or months or years, depending on a person’s situation. In my view it’s an exciting journey of learning to relax back into a more natural, effortless state of seeing and being.

NO ENFORCED VACCINATION !!! Vaccine manufacturers have paid out nearly $2B in damages to parents in America whose children were harmed by one of the childhood jabs such as the MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) or DPT (diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus). In all, around 2,000 families have received compensation payments that have averaged $850,000 each. There are a further 700 claims that are going through the pipeline.
